My biggest pet peeve about crafts in fiction, besides the usual Inability to Fact Check Basic Information About How Craft X Actually Works, is when an author has a liquid spill on wool fabric and then immediately soak in. Are we the only ones who have ever worn wool?! Does nobody else know that it repels water unless you are soaking it long and hard?! I can remember one instance of the fabric being a sweater, but worse was the time it was a skirt made of fulled wool plaid. C’mon now authors! That stuff isn’t going to soak unless you’re trekking across the moors in a rainstorm for hours on end!
